Educated

historic and artistic culture from early on. Always drawing and
painting for as long as she remembers, the passion for the visual art
stayed with her. She returned to school for more art classes in 1996,
after raising a family. She spent the next few years with
portraiture instructors and various professional artists and started
exhibiting and selling her paintings.
Maria’s paintings have been exhibited in art shows in the
Northern Virginia, MD, and throughout the Washington D.C. metropolitan
area. She has also been juried into Galleries in Nevada, the
Carolinas’ and Washington State, where she exhibits in Miniature
shows.
Maria Briganti experience includes having been the president of the
Prince William Art Society for four years, as well as being a board
member of the Prince William Society for seven years. Has been a member
of the Fairfax Art League and the Manassas Art Guild. She also
been juried into and exhibited, at the Torpedo Factory in Alexandria
during the late 1990’s.
She is also a board member of the ArtBeat Co-op.
"My favorite studies include old master’s technique. I love to
paint from still live, or do plain air landscapes. Also have painted
portraiture, human or animals, when time allows. Favorite mediums
are pastel and oils, but will paint in watercolor when the inspiration
of a subject calls for such. Always trying new mediums and
experimenting and being inspired by other artists, I hope to continue
to grow as an artist." -Maria Briganti
